So, where to?

my hand's numb from banging the shelf together :|
yes its one big stubborn piece of furniture my mum just got about a week ago
just decided that i might as well get it done with after coming back from Ipoh.

hope Christmas had been fun for many people out there :)
mine was spent watching a canton drama at my aunt's place
with her constantly cursing the dvd player for skipping scenes and jamming halfway :D
oh and i spent most of my time there reading The Spook's Apprentice,
quite a good book..simple and not that all scary despite what the quotes on its cover say
there are 8 books altogether if i'm not mistaken, so its sort of a trilogy
plan to get the 2nd one tomorrow if possible..
and i hope my parcel arrives soon...then i can wrap it up, surprise someone ;)
hopefully making her day lah

the past week or so i was busy sending out late applications to universities in Australia..
found out last minute that out of the 3 universities i applied to earlier this year only 2 offered me a place
and they weren't really good universities so i started doing more inquiries,
see what i could possibly get with my "almost-made-it" ATAR (84.80)
a mere 0.2 more would put me in Melbourne doing Ba of Sci :/

while on it i also did a little bit of looking around for Ely's Biochem/Biotech
sad to say, not many universities/colleges in M'sia offer it.
if any, most like it would be Biotech and not Biochem, what she'd love to do
probably continue the search after her A2, hopefully find a way to get her to Ireland maybe? :)

i might be leaving everyone behind now, if i ever get an offer letter from Australia.
sorta worried about it..since i barely know anyone in Australia right now,
it's going to be hard to adapt..
plus Ely's got some problem with Australia :/
never wanting to step foot in aus for some reason.
its similar to Malaysia in a way since its full of Malaysians with a PR there
but its still a whole new country with different people, different places to see you know :|

just got back from Nathaniel's place, the group went there to celebrate Nat's bro's (Joshua) birthday and i had to sleep over last night cause it was a little too late for me to drive home (parent's ruling). It was quite a small birthday party for his little bro, but the food was great and the movie (Scott Pilgrim vs the world) was good awesome :D

been about a week since my exams ended and i've been doing quite a bit actually, although not really what i had in mind. Dad suggested that i went to work for/with him, at the very least get some exposure to office life and since i had nothing really better to do (some i couldn't), i gave in. Good thing is i finally get to have my own laptop (yay) a bit late for a geek like me but yeah...

so we took the first few days after my exams to look for a new laptop, it was really just 3 hours spent in Low Yat Plaza but i did my research beforehand so i knew what i was looking for, just had to compare a few brands and their prices when we got there. We got a deal at a Hewlett Packard distributor with a brand new Pavilion model, the DM4-1112TX which cost me 3 grand and according to the salesman, was a brand new model of the DM4 which had not been announced to the public yet (i think he meant Malaysia only). It was a bit more expensive (about RM100) from what i selected from their catalog, the DM4-1101TX (since 1112TX was the upgraded version of it anyway) but it gave me some extra disk space, 500GB and a more powerful 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5470 graphic processor, lovely :D

maybe a few pictures of it would help, but i'm lazy to actually take photos of it with the fact that i don't own a DSLR camera, so here, took these from Engadget's Galleries :)

the whole new laptop hunt actually took about 2 hours, then we spent another hour looking for accessories and cool stuff before heading home. Absolutely love the DM4's slim and elegant form, it's got some cool "carvings" on its lid that resembles a stream of plasma going across its length and a logo that glows white when the laptop is on...ah and that its surface is made of aluminium..so cool lah xDD

started "work" on Thursday, and "work" meaning i only got lessons from my dad about his industrial design work and introduced myself to the other employees there. His workplace is kinda cool, its not hectic or filled with incoming calls every 5 minutes or so, in fact its quiet and simply relaxing to be in, his clerk even had time to Facebook i think, but of course they all did their jobs well so my dad didn't bother. i know its still a bit early to really tell, only been to his office for two days but we'll see how it goes :)

i hope i don't get stuck working for him for too long, still a bit more i'd like to do, one being visiting friends, even those that live as far as Desa Park City (hint <_<) well i've got a car and i can drive, so heck i'll just give it a go....kalau boleh lah that is...

other things to do : start drawing lah you! say like graphic design and all but cannot draw...pfft ; err...and go learn and PERFECT Trace Bundy's Patanga (maybe other songs too) ; finish a bunch of survival games, uh...i'm a gamer lah what to do :/

now about to go wardrobe hunting!! that is....going to IKEA to look for wardrobes lah.
(bro became territorial recently)

Glimpse of a future

I caution who ever reads this to not waste your time as the following might or may not be of any sense or meaning to most. now then, shall we?

well some may argue the cause of insomnia
be it a chemical imbalance in the body or whatnot
sometimes it just happens

the room is dark, you barely hear the fan cutting through the wind
you lay your head against the soft cotton pillow and shut your eyes as you begin to withdraw from reality, but wait, you can't?
before you know it thoughts race through your mind, unstoppable, you want it to stop and let you fall asleep but the thoughts never cease.

screw it. i couldn't sleep last night, stayed up quite long before i actually dozed off, must've been some mild insomnia. The darkness of night is a wonder really, its silence, absence of sight, really brings your mind back to itself, it literally explores itself, memories, fantasies, and for those that do reminisce and dream a lot, a future. Of course i'm not saying it would bring about a great future if all one does is dream and not do anything about it, but by dreaming i guess it just sets a goal for you, something to dream of, not want of. Maybe its different for everyone, some might find theirs through work, some maybe through tv? and are there actually people that find some while in the bathroom, well...i don't know and truth be told i think it's better kept that way lol.

so, a future?

a dream car, something almost every guy should have at some point, say..a Modena. Ferrari red and the ecstatic sound of its engine, what wonderful engineering, plus how even though its just a car inside it is of emotional value. Please Mr. future-salesman-trying-to-sell-an-antique-Modena please, have me on your contacts list. Is it a Spider? Lovely.

a special song, one that reminds of the days past, years really. a song that binds, a pair and the past to present, maybe even distance. Lets hope so.

then someone, a word that solely explains it all, well almost.

Of Hondas hitting the front door :| (almost)

woke up today with a really bad runny nose
and was scheduled to go out with fang for lunch at 12pm
thank god it stopped just then -_-
then mum had to take the car to subang jaya to pay some bills
so the lunch was postponed to like 1:30pm :|
i was starving Dx (side effect of not eating breakfast xD)
i think we both were anyways

took her to that Vary Pasta shop near Atria and she loved it :D
its a small cafe-like Italian restaurant and they make really really
good Italian food :D most of their dishes are full of herbs, so yummy
been a while since i been there and they really did improve on service too
after that we just hanged out at her place, play with skittles etc
till her bro wanted to go makan at Kayu :D
this time she drove :|
*Hell broke lose* OMFG NOOOOOO!!!
...
nah just kidding she wasn't that bad on the road
it was on the way back from Kayu that i finally understood
what she'd been telling me, (eg "sorry la my driving sucks :<")
while turning into her house to park, she hit the gas instead of the brake
almost hitting the front door of her own house
it was especially terrifying, it being the last thing i would've expected
from her "bad" driving lol x_x

for the record,
the door's still alive,
fang, her bro and i, are still alive
and the car....prolly needs some psychotherapy but its fine :D
and i wouldn't mind sitting in her car,
though this time with the seatbelt fastened ._.

these past 2 days have been pretty busy
previously i was with the gang on a mission to teach Tarvinder how to drive
plenty of hiccups but we eventually did it
then had dinner at Nathanael's place (he insisted so yeah we went anyway)
the food was goooooood o_o surprising because dinner was made by his 2 foreign maids
........ok now its starting to sound creepy :|

anyways 3 weeks left till my finals yay :D
i'm so dead....and believe it or not ely's actually more preoccupied with studying
than i am, her being unsatisfied with her maths....i failed maths -_-
so there ya have it, i dunno whats gotten into me....so screwed up now
ah well, physics presentation coming up, gotta find a way to successfully
get an introvert and a mandarin speaking guy to present the topic with me
sigh i need some motivation about now :/

Shhh, It's Near

it's barely 4 weeks away :(
my finals

worse I've just got my trial papers back and they don't seem promising
Maths - D, Spec Maths - E ven worse,
Physics - C or D, ESL - prolly C, IT - no idea
was I ever that bad? :|
guess so.

so now, where to start :)
i totally suck at Spec Maths
and Physics, maybe i'll read'em on the bus or when i'm bored in class
ESL can't study for, and IT - same as physics i guess
Maths should be pretty do-able, plus its required in the university offers
so Maths it is,

damn i gotta plan my remaining 25 days to see what i should study.
i think this is the first time i'm actually working this hard :X
and i guess the most of next month would be quite boring,
might not have much to write but we'll see
hope i get to hang out a bit so i can relax too.

Day 5, DONE :D

finally over, my trials have gone by with today
being one of the great days i've had since i started SAM

its 4:36AM now actually, i could care less about sleeping
but i have to in case my mum wakes up and gets a heart attack
from seeing me still awake at this hour, practically morning actually.

well IT studies was fine,
one of the papers i actually feel confident about
and now begins the countdown to my finals, tick tock
4 weeks to go, bring it on SAM
and finally i'll be able to get you over with.

after my dinner at home
i, tarvinder, nat, audrey, kayjun, lenping and ronald
got ourselves a nice badminton/basketball court and found some time to relax
and look at fire burn lighter fluid and candlesticks
we're a weird group of people :D

well, sorry if this is really really short but i am half asleep right now
i'll be back after some much needed rest...

oh and i'm thinking of changing my blog theme
and it'll prolly be based on the word "Cherish"..
let me know what that word means to you? :)

Day 3, Thursday

so it does seem that my days don't come in chronicle order now
and so i shall explain :D
its Day 3 of my exams, which is in fact a Thursday
(sorry skipped Day 2 cause my head exploded due to the insane amounts of studying)

Day 2 was actually Maths Studies, as i think i've posted on my previous post
it was reasonably fine, though i sorta regret not being able to finish it in time
while doing the paper i didn't take a good look at the ending time (very smart i know)
consequently thinking i had a tad more extra time to finish the paper...damn

Day 3, today, was Physics :D
my favorite subject yet i screwed it up -_-
how the hell did i have so little time to finish my papers :|

sigh, disappointing much...

exam weeks are crazy :/
hope i do better for my finals..
